Product description

The Kugoo KuKirin G2 Max is the range-extender of the G2 family. Same 48 V architecture as the rest of the line, same compact form factor, same removable seat — but a meaningfully larger battery, a stronger motor, and a real 80 km headline range that translates to 60–70 km in honest daily use. This is the model for the rider whose daily commute is not 5 km but 12–15 km, or for someone who simply does not want to plug a scooter into the wall every other evening. With the seat installed, an 80 km ride stops being a leg-endurance test.

Specifications follow that long-range positioning. A single 1000 W brushless motor on a 48 V system pushes the top speed to 55 km/h on closed property — digitally/software-limited to 25 km/h; the limit can be removed for private-property use and is not police-proof like a VMP hardware lock. The 48 V 20.8 Ah lithium-ion battery is meaningfully larger than the 15 Ah pack on the G2 Pro and standard G2 (2026), and that extra capacity is the entire point of the model. Charging time of 10–11 hours is the honest trade-off for that battery size — bigger packs take longer on the same charger. IP54 splash resistance, an LED display, and the full lighting kit (headlight, side markers, brake/tail, turn signals) make it practical for everyday riding.

Ride comfort is the second selling point next to the battery. A four-bar suspension linkage front and rear plus 10-inch pneumatic tyres are necessary on long rides — an 80 km journey on a poorly suspended scooter ends in wrist and back fatigue, not a triumph. Two disc brakes plus an electronic auxiliary brake produce predictable stopping. The 22° max gradient handles typical urban hills — moderate compared with the dual-motor G2 Master (28°), but ahead of the compact 600 W siblings. Total weight is 32 kg and max load 120 kg.

In the Kugoo KuKirin lineup the G2 Max owns the "long-range single-motor with seat" niche: bigger battery than the G2, G2 Pro, A1, and S1 Max; lighter and simpler than the dual-motor G2 Master, G3 Pro, and G4 Max; more compact than the 60 V G4. If maximum daily range matters more to you than top speed and you prefer a seated commuter format, the G2 Max is the optimised choice. Full specs and FAQ below.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this model best for?

This model is best for longer daily commuting and seated riding when your daily route is around 10-15 km or more.

Is this model road-legal in Estonia?

No, not in the same way as a VMP model. This model has a digital 25 km/h limiter, but it can be removed for private-property use. Because the limiter is not physically/factory-wired, it is not sufficient proof for police or insurance purposes and should not be treated as a public-road VMP model.

What is the realistic range?

Realistic range is usually around 60-80 km in warm weather. Cold, headwind, hills, and higher riding speeds can bring it lower.

Is the Kugoo G2 Max the same product as the KuKirin G2 Max?

Yes. Kugoo rebranded to KuKirin in EU markets around 2022–2023 due to a trademark issue. Same factory, same product lineage — only the brand name on the deck differs. Older Kugoo G2 Max reviews apply directly.

Is the Kugoo KuKirin G2 Max suitable for Estonian winter use?

On dry roads only, and with an honest expectation of reduced range — large 20.8 Ah lithium packs lose significant capacity below 0 °C, sometimes dropping real-world range to 50–55 km. We recommend storing the scooter indoors above +5 °C from November to March.
